1 Million USD Prizes for MagnaChain Blockchain Game Development Competition
MagnaChain, the public blockchain previously known as CellLink, announced at the annual game industry event “2018 Unreal Engine Technology Open Day” that it has hosted a blockchain game contest named “Blockchain Game Development Competition – China Region”. The participating game developers can obtain rewards provided by MagnaChain as long as they register, and the best game awards that will be selected by the reviewers and judges. The winners will have the opportunity to receive a total of $1 million valued prizes. The scale and intensity of similar competition can be regarded as one of the top in the current blockchain ecosystem.
Jinsong Zhang, CTO of MagnaChain, announced that the purpose of this event is to provide game developers around the world with an exchange and cooperation platform that combines blockchain technology and game development.
“For a long time, game developers have been subject to copyright ownership, resources being exploited by platforms, exploitation of distribution channels, and other difficult roadblocks. Meanwhile, gamers have no real ownership of the digital assets that they create or spend time acquiring in games. These issues will be solved in the blockchain. Promoting blockchain technology in game industry and constructing a blockchain gaming ecosystem are the main driving force for MagnaChain’s technology”, Jinsong said.

The prizes in this competition are very rich, with a total prize value up to 1 million US dollars. The winner of the “Best Blockchain Game Award” will receive a reward of US$200,000 (the award will be issued in cash and MagnaChain’s token “Magna”– or MGC). Other awards include “Most Popular Award” and “Best Gaming Technology Award”, “Most Creative Award”, and more. In addition to the above-mentioned final review and voting awards, all entries submitted will be rewarded when submitting planning, demos, or completed works, with final game products being published on MagnaChain’s public blockchain.
The registration was launched online from June 1st to June 30th, 2018. The submissions for demo or finished products will conclude on September 30. The organizer will conduct online voting before the end of October, followed by expert reviews and publishing of the final award-winning games.
